The number of homes with solar panels on their roofs varies depending on the country and region. According to the International Energy Agency, as of 2021, there were over 200 million households worldwide with rooftop solar panels installed. However, the distribution of solar homes is not equal across all countries, and some countries have higher penetration rates than others. In the United States, for example, it is estimated that over 2.5 million homes have solar panels on their roofs, while in Australia, more than 2.7 million homes have solar PV systems installed.
