Map of Hawaii Solar Locations in Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui & Big Island Hawaii
Hawaii, with its abundant sunshine and commitment to renewable energy, has several notable solar farms. Electric utility bills are very high in Hawaii. It is no surprise that solar roof density on the islands is quite high. Maui and Oahu lead the islands on solar installation density. Zoom in on the map and add locations we are missing by using the satellite view.
The largest solar farms in Hawaii are:
Anahola Solar Project: Located on the island of Kauai, the Anahola Solar Project has a capacity of 12 MW. It consists of approximately 59,000 solar panels and covers an area of around 60 acres.
Kawailoa Solar Project: Situated on the island of Oahu, the Kawailoa Solar Project has a capacity of 49 MW. It comprises over 170,000 solar panels and covers an area of approximately 280 acres.
Waianae Solar Project: Also located on the island of Oahu, the Waianae Solar Project has a capacity of 27.6 MW. It consists of approximately 90,000 solar panels and spans an area of around 220 acres.
Lāwa'i Solar and Energy Storage Project: Developed by AES Distributed Energy, the Lāwa'i Solar and Energy Storage Project is situated on Kauai. It has a capacity of 28 MW of solar power combined with 100 MWh of energy storage. The solar farm features over 85,000 solar panels and is integrated with battery storage to provide reliable and sustainable energy to the island.
